More than just a show
Welcome to the World of Peyton Taylor: Technical Theatre Designer
Hello! I’m Peyton, an aspiring technical theatre designer and a proud undergrad AFA student in my final semester at Cowley College, South Central Kansas.
About me
Hello! My name is Peyton Taylor, a technical theatre designer and undergrad AFA student currently in my last semester at Cowley College in South Eastern Kansas. Theatre has been a part of my world since I was young, and it blossomed my love even more when I entered High School and began helping with backstage elements. Since I have been at Cowley, my study focuses have diversified to most areas in Technical Design. As a skilled technician in most aspects of technical theatre, I pride myself on my level of education. I strive to perpetually learn and grow and educate myself and others around me.
Some of my few loves in this field include the joy it can bring to others. Watching patrons enter my theatre, hearing their applause and cheers for the show that I helped bring to life is a gift, for any show I am a part of. I always want to leave a positive impact wherever I am, and if it means bringing brief moments of happiness, sadness, or humanity into a theatre and into the hearts of the audience, I could live with that. While live theatre is part of a job title for myself, other technicians, and the actors we work with, live theatre exists as a break from the outside world for our audience. If I have to work long days in the scene-shop, putting together our next show, the applause of the audience will always keep my spirits high. Our audience is why and how we can perform, create, and live in our art. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
